Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Blue Otter Auto ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By using blueotterauto.com or submitting a quote request through our service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

What This Service Is (And Isn't)

Blue Otter Auto is a quote comparison service. We route your quote request to licensed insurance carriers and independent agents who write auto policies in your area. We do not:

• Underwrite, issue, or service insurance policies
• Set premiums, rates, or coverage terms
• Guarantee that any partner will offer you a quote
• Make coverage or underwriting decisions
• Process or pay claims

Any policy you purchase is between you and the carrier directly, governed by the policy contract and the insurance laws of your state. Premiums are set by carriers under rating rules filed with your state's department of insurance.

Eligibility

To use our service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a resident of the United States
• Be requesting quotes for a vehicle you own, lease, or are authorized to insure
• Provide accurate contact and vehicle information

Your Responsibilities

Everything you submit must be accurate — your name, contact details, ZIP code, and vehicle information. Carriers price policies on this information, and misstatements on an insurance application can lead to denied claims or rescinded policies later.

You agree not to:

• Submit requests with false identity, contact, or vehicle information
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers on our site
• Submit multiple requests using different identities
• Attempt to access our systems beyond normal site usage
• Use our service for any purpose other than genuinely shopping for auto insurance

Data Sharing Consent

By submitting a quote request, you consent to us sharing your contact and vehicle information with licensed insurance carriers and agents in our network for the purpose of preparing quotes, and you consent to those partners contacting you by phone or email about auto insurance. Third-Party Carriers and Agents

We connect you with carriers and agents. We don't control their quotes, underwriting decisions, or business practices. Once a partner contacts you, your relationship is with them — not us. Review any policy before you buy it: coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, and the premium after all discounts.

Cost to You

Our comparison service is free. We don't charge quote fees, matching fees, or any other cost to consumers. We are compensated by the carriers and agencies in our network. The only payments you make are premiums to a carrier if you choose to buy a policy — at the same price you would get contacting that carrier directly.

No Guarantee of Quotes or Savings

Submitting a request doesn't guarantee you'll receive a quote, a specific rate, or savings over your current premium. Availability depends on which partners write policies for your vehicle and location, and pricing is entirely up to each carrier. Editorial content on this site — average premiums, state requirements, rate factors — is provided for information only and is not insurance advice or an offer of coverage.

Limitation of Liability

Blue Otter Auto provides a comparison service "as is." We are not liable for: partner quoting or underwriting decisions, policy terms, coverage disputes, claim outcomes, or any actions taken by carriers or agents after we make the introduction. Our total liability for any claim related to our service is limited to the amount you paid us — which is zero, since we don't charge consumers.

Indemnification

You agree to hold Blue Otter Auto harmless from claims arising out of: false information you submitted, disputes with carriers or agents, coverage or claim outcomes, or your violation of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

Site content — text, design, logos, code, and our rate research — belongs to Blue Otter Auto. Don't copy, scrape, or redistribute it without written permission.

Termination

We can suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason — including suspected fraud, Terms violations, or abuse of our service. This doesn't affect any insurance policy you hold with a carrier.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Company is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. You waive any right to a jury trial or class action related to your use of this service.

Changes

We can update these Terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after posting. Continuing to use the site after that constitutes acceptance.

Severability

If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
